There are two common approaches you can accept if you are thinking of renovating your home. The first is all about being steady. That means you will try to accomplish the same look and feel throughout the whole house. The theme is what matters most here.
But you face some problems with this approach. Not everyone agrees with just having one design. Your children probably won't agree to you changing their rooms into the traditional style. But if there is just you and your spouse, this approach will work just great. There is no need to come up with multiple designs for different rooms. This approach can save you a lot of time. But if this approach doesn't work out for you, you will have to turn to the alternative. The second approach is the direct opposite of the first one. Come up with a different design for each room. Every member of the family gets to design their own room. The main benefit is that everyone gets what they want. Each will have his or her own personal preferences met. As the homeowner, there are 2 rooms that your children will probably have no interest in - the living room and the kitchen.
